Application of High-power Laser

1. Optical components in laser optical system

High-power lasers have a wide range of applications, including precision industrial processing, laser imaging/ranging, and strong field physics applications. Optical lenses and lenses, as the key core components of the laser optical system, have an important influence on the laser system.

With the popularization of high-power fiber lasers, ultraviolet lasers, and picosecond femtosecond lasers, the requirements for core optical components are getting higher and higher. We will explain the manufacturing and testing of optical components from materials selection, sub-nano polishing, ion sputtering coating and other technologies.

2. The development of optical components

In recent years, the development of high-power lasers, deep ultraviolet/X-rays and other fields has not only extended the choice of optical materials, but also put forward the processing requirements of ultra-precision surface and ultra-smooth surface for optical components. Nano, namely Angstrom (Å). In addition, coating technology with a laser damage threshold greater than 40J/cm2 and high-power components with an absorption rate of less than 0.15% have effectively improved the reliability of lasers above the kilowatt level. Therefore, it is very important to seek breakthroughs in new coating technology to achieve dense and precise coatings. At the same time, it is important and urgent to be able to quantitatively measure the absorption rate and laser damage threshold, and to develop a testing instrument that is in line with international measurement standards.

(1) Welding and cutting of car frame and ship parts as well as the thickness of the latest high-power laser cutting steel plate can reach 20mm, and the cutting seam is smooth and tidy without burrs;

(2) For the welding of new energy vehicle power batteries, high-power welding can solve the phenomenon of impermeable welds, bumps and small holes in the welds;

(3) Repair and surface treatment of ship drive shaft. For high-power ultraviolet and green lasers, they are mainly used for fine micro-processing, such as cutting OLED displays. Ultraviolet laser has a small focus spot, and the screen after cutting has no cracks or chipping.
