What are Cylinder Lenses?

Apr. 16, 2018

Cylinder lenses are a sort of lens which have radii from the Y and X axes, causing the lens to have image magnification in one axis, and a cylindrical or shape. Cylinder lenses are employed as to correct image height dimensions, or laser generators or appropriate for astigmatism in imaging methods. Cylinder Lenses offered uncoated or using numerous anti-reflection coating selections to the UV, visible, or IR spectrum. Acylinder, Achromatic, plano-convex, plano-concave, or pole versions out there.

Plano Convex Cylindrical Lens

Or you may understand like this way. A cylindrical lens is a lens that concentrates light into a line rather than a stage, as a spherical lens would. The curved face or faces of a cylindrical lens are segments of a cylinder, and concentrate the image passing through it to some point parallel to the junction of this surface of the lens along with a plane tangent to it. The lens compresses the picture in the direction perpendicular to the line, and leaves it unaltered from the path parallel to it (from the tangent plane). At a mild sheet microscope, a mirrored lens is put facing the lighting objective to produce the mild sheet used for imaging.

BRD provides high precision cylinder lenses, including Plano Convex Cylindrical Lens, Plano Concave Cylindrical Lens, Meniscus Cylindrical lens, Cemented Cylindrical Lens.
